I can see a future with all these transparent malarky but not on a laptop. It wouldn't make sense, especially when you bring them around and suddenly the sun glare is going to make your transparent laptop rather pointless.

Maybe an iMac, kinda like a Minority Report style, 3D multi touch space - now that would be more impressive than transparent laptop screens

Still, a good insight to what would be a "cool" factor to the up and coming technology.

That will actually not be true if the optics is genuinely transparent but able to output on the optics as well, i.e. show the desktop icons on the screen and whatever is through the glass is essentially the desktop.
