hi all, im considering getting the inwin for a mini itx htpc build. noise is a big issue as i would like the system to be as quiet as possible.

how noisy is the built in psu?

cheers

I find when it gets hot the 40mm fans spins up quite a bit.

Put it this way, im looking to replace it with a power brick and picoPSU this week.

Im not sure, I think they can. Id be using a 2.5" drive.

AFAIK however they cannot run a full size 5.25 dvd drive because of the switch on current draw.

Built a system the other week with one of these cases. Runs very cool and quiet although the case fan is a bit noisier than it could be. Running a desktop hard disk and desktop DVD writer fine.

yeah mate on the BM639 it looks like a tiny fan. could allways swap it for a pico-psu though?

This is what i should be doing this week. - Hopefully. I replaced the case fan also to a slower Akasa one. On switch on i can only hear the hdd until it gets hot - then the damn psu fan kicks in

jus noticed the thread title, i actually mean the IN-WIN BP655

In which case ignore my comments :)

oh yeah mate it was you that told me about that pico-psu lol. ive ordered the bp655 now, hopefully the psu fan wont be tooooo bad.

what itx board you running mate?

Ive tried getting my psu apart to swap the 40mm fan but i got frustrated with it and gave up. A penny short of using a hammer on it.
