In WORD how do I stop it from ......

deleting letters in a sentence when I'm trying to type something in the line?

eg Lets say in the sentence above I want to put at the start 'I want to delete' - on my WORD at work it will start deleting letters after the replacement letters

I've clicked on something but don't know what.

Help, make it stop

On word, in settings or something, you need to turn off replacement.

Think this is overtype, turn it off from Tools>Options>Edit tab, untick Overtype Mode.

restart the pc seemed to be the only option at the time
