I am a bit confused - I think that my QX6700 is unlocked so I can adjust the mltiplier both up and down......

But my ABIT IN9 32 MAX will not let me alter the multiplier upwards eg it only allows a multiplier of 10 as the max multiplier, which is what the default multiplier is.

Am I being a dope? Or did I boob getting this motherboard?

Thanks

Stuart

Same problem here...grrrrr
Can you guys do me a favour and tell me what core temp reports your temps to be for your quad at stock speeds.

Mine are low to mid 40's !!
uGuru shows it 10 degrees less !!

Dont know about stock speeds as I am not going to fiddle more but at 3ghz

uGURE is showing 34 and Core Temp is showing 48,47,48,46

Wonder which is the correct figure?

Thanks dude. That is a MAJOR weight off my shoulders. I think CoreTemp is correct as it is showing the internal temp. I was getting temps of 10 degrees lower on my bad axe 2 because I was using Intel speedstep (EIST). And so the volts and multiplier were lower as was the cpu speed. Does not seem to work with this board as it always shows 2.66ghz.

Just to be sure is there any chance you could run at stock speeds and tell me your temps ?

Reason I am worried was because I had a terrible time getting the tuniq into my Mirage. Had to mount it on the board first and then mount the lot into the case (could not get mobo tray to slide in over cpu socket/heatsink being place too high). Problem is when lining up the mobo the side of the tuniq is flush against the bottom of the psu cage, so thought I might have dislodged one of the thumscrews holding the heatsink down and broken contact with cpu.

Hmm my temps are a lot higher than you guys idle im at 54,56,55,53 on Core Temp.
Uguru is showing 40.
Must have not seated it properly :(
I have a watercooling set up on the way so wont bother redoing atm.

It's hard not to seat it propely considering the 4 thumscrews sit it flush. The NB not being cooled is not helping, and these boards run hot, hot. If that is at 3ghz, then it sounds right, because I am only 4-5 degrees cooler at stock.

What is interesting is after running Orthos in a scorching hot room none of my cores broke 70. Same result as the EVGA. So not too worried. Tjunc is listed as 100.

yup I think I might have to buy a fan for the northbridge. Anyone tried it yet?

On a related note in uGURU what exactly is it measuring for PWM Phase 1 - 5 as they get VERY hot whne I max out all 4 cores of the CPU but are fine if it is at say 95%

Thanks

STuart

I have no idea mate but those pwm's are supposed to be able to take some torture. Abit always had this in uguru. I am not going to worry about it. Mine all seem to idle around 55 to 58, and max is 125. Running orthos seems to drive them up, but never seen them go over 65 after an hour of running Orthos.

If I run 4 sessions of SP2004 set on small I can get them over 130 (though only If I run 4 - 3 of them is under 100) shoudl I be worried?
