I've just been having a bit of a clearout and inadvertently came across a shrink wrapped copy of Alien Vs Predator, old I know, but it's supposed to be a bit of a classic, what do you reckon people and peoplesses, worth an install? :)

I seem to remember it came as a free gift when I started a pc zone subscription a while back,it's the gold edition and includes the Millenium expansion pack whatever that is.

I'll give it a whirl anyway,I've always loved a bit of retro, who the hell needs all this HDR and soft shadow crap anyway. :D

That game made me freek out at night all you hear in the headphones beep beep beep.

Ahhh there coming....then you die lol. :p

Couldn't get it to run properly in the end, from some of the posts on the official forums it seems the game is troublesome with xp and certain hardware configurations, especially geforce 6xxxx series gpu's.

Huge community though so the game is obviously still popular,I'll endeavour to get it running properly at some point.

edit/ compatibilty mode seems to have ironed out most of the problems, just getting annoying sound glitches now.

I loved this game. I managed to learn the levels well enough to play as the alien and run up and down the walls and all over the ceiling before launching myself at some poor unsuspecting human.
The levels are not really linked in any way, but they all good fun and very tense. Hope you enjoy it :)

Most definitely. One of my top games and I don't think any game has yet surpassed the incredibly tense situations it created whilst playing as a marine; the "beep, beep, beep!" sensor was just pure class! :p That said, my favourite was the predator, I mean how much cooler can a character get?

I have a Geforce 7800GT and it says that there isn't enough video memory when I try to play a level. It seems this is a very common problem but I haven't found any fixes. Anyone have any luck with this? This thread seems like a convienient place to ask for help.

I remember this was one of the first games i played online using wireplay.

That must have been a few years ago now :(
