I am aiming to build a small cube pc that can record incar and external video from 1 or 2 camera inputs. Now as this is mainly for race track day footage and occational rally course it will get bumped around. ( i have thought about DV tapes instead but want the versitility of hard drive )

Would i be best to go for a laptop HDD due to the extra shocks or are they pretty much the same as a desktop HDD when operating?

Whats everyoes thoughts on minimum specs, best capture card etc, shock absorbsion etc?
