Incompatible memory cause bsod?

Patriot viper Black mamba generation 3, 8Gb (2x4GB) DDr3 PC3-12800C9 1600mhz dual channel kit.
On this motherboard...
Gigabyte 990xa-ud3 AMD 990x Scoket am3+ DDR3 mobo.
Would this memory fitted to this mobo cause BSODs?

If the modules are faulty yes. Have you looked at the QVL for that board?

Sorry, it's the Qualified Vendors List. All Motherboards will have one. If you checkout their website, you should find it under support or downloads.
