Hi guys, I was just going through all the stuff under my bed and found the Enermax EG475AX V2.0 PSU. The story behind it is that it was bought on these forums to replace a faulty PSU in my system:
2800+ Barton
3x512 PC3200 RAM
ASUS A7N8X-E
1x120GB HD
ATI 800Pro
2xDVD-RWs
Needless to say it didn't work and since I didn't get round to installing a fair few weeks after buying it I didn't bother with contacting the seller as it would look dodgy. Basically what it does is power up with it, works for around 30 seconds, but then it just cuts off. After that the PC refuses to start at all and the only thing that happens is the small fan starts to spin (that cooling feature it has I presume).
So it just went under my bed until now when I clicked on that it's ATX12V V2.0 newer generation PSU and my system is rather old by today's standards so is it possible that this PSU simply isn't compatible with my old machine? I read some reviews and it mentiones that it supports P4 and Socket 939 machines but nothing about socket A.
Oh and at the moment I'm just using some cheapo Sumvision PSU which doesn't say anywhere which version it is.
Thanks in advance.
