Increase memory on A8N-SLI?

Hi

I've got an Asus A8N-SLI deluxe mb with a Winchester 3000 and a Corsair 1GB DDR XMS4400 TwinX memory kit.

I've overclocked the FSB to 275MHz and the thing rattles along quite happily, showing a clock speed of 2.4GHz

Unfortunately I'm finding that 1Gb isn't really enough and want to increase it to 2Gb.

My original thought was just to get another one of the Corsair kits, but firstly they seem to have been discontinued and secondly I've read that 4 modules don't work very well.

With this in mind, can anyone recommend some memory upgrade options? I'm keen to be able to keep the FSB setting which I don't think I'll be able to get with anything less than DDR4400, but I can't seem to find any 4400 memory.

Cheers

Guy

I might be able to help you on 2 counts there...

1 - I also have that Mobo

2 - I also have some TwinX too - 2 x 512MB DDR4400

I can happily say that putting in another pair of TwinX will work just fine.

What happens, is that when you run 4x512 the RAM speed defaults to 333 instead of 400... Nearly all Mobos do this and its not just yours!

Now, I have a pair of TwinX as I said, and I also got a pair of Platinum...

Spec-wise, they are 100% identical, so I will be happy to chuck the lot into my A8N-SLI and get back to you on the results if that will help?

At this time, the TwinX is in the DFI and the Plats are in the Neo2, but Im going to be working on the A8N tomorrow, so its not a problem.

Let me know before 3pm
