Sometime it is required for me to have USB devices over 5m away which means I need to use a USB Active Extension. With my PC plugged into this the device works fine.
As soon as I change the PC for a laptop the USB device says it has malfuctioned at it will not work. If I then attached the laptop to an external powered hub and then have a Active Extension and the device etc it works fine.
I only assume that the powered USB ports on a laptop don't supply as much as a PC ports do.
Is there anyway I can increase the power the laptop USB port produce?
