Increasing my monitor refresh rate.

On mobile here so bare with me. The link makes no mention of O/C or supporting 60+MHz.

How do you propose to increase it to 75?

You can use NVidia control panel with having a 1080.

It should not l use to have mine at 80hz but if you want to use DSR you'll have to put it back to default 60hz.
 
I was going to use the Nvidia Control panel. I wanted to know if, me increasing the monitor hz from 60 to 75 would damage the monitor.
 
Why buy a 28" 4K monitor? Wouldn't a 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor be a better choice? Less pixels to push, higher frame rate, potentially g-sync with your 1080? Also no need for scaling to 150% to get Windows to look right?
 
So many responses and only a single useful comment.

Overclocking has always been stated to accelerate the degrading of components. To what end it'll reduce the life of your monitor, nobody could tell you. Personally i've been running a 60Hz 1440p monitor for 3.5 years at 100Hz without issue.
 
No one can say for if it will or not but generally pushing components will degrade them faster. Better question is has someone else done this and tested for frame skipping?

I've seen this done on other forums but 70+ is not always achievable without frame skipping.

I've been running a Dell UltraSharp U2913WM 29" at 75Hz since Jan 2013 and no issues, just set to 75Hz in Nvidia panel and boom, prob works the same for AMD.

I can't remember it but there's a website that plays an animation which looks messed up if your monitor isn't refreshing properly, it's great for showing if an overclock is working or not.

I've had lucky with Dell Ultrasharp U2515 at 75hz using Nvidia control panel - overclocked straight off the bat since I got it in July 2016. Definitely notice a little improvement in gaming - things are less blurrier.
 
I've force overclocked monitors before and it often is either hardly noticeable or makes it look worse, its not worth the reduced life-span of your monitor.
