Increasing problems resuming from hibernate...

Hey peeps,

So basically I'm slowly graduating from where I could hibernate for 30 days running without issue, to 10 days, to 5 days, to every other day. Windows error logs are not talking to me about the problem, all I know is that *sometimes* when i try to resume from hibernate, it either doesn't turn the monitors on, or reboots itself. Today it gave me an uninformative bluescreen. I don't know what's causing it, and it's ****ing me off because I really do not like to and lose track of what I was working on.

Running off a 3-year-old SSD. Also allowed Win 10 anniversary edition to install... Might either be the problem? Have unplugged all USB devices except keyboard/mouse. New GPU added in the last week, but problems were surfacing before fitting it so no change there. Never has problems while turned on. Utterly solid machine apart from the hibernate issue.

Fed up now, I just want it to wake up reliably like it did with Win 7 :(

Thanks for advice!

Well I wouldn't use hibernate as it causes instability. I suspect your issue is driver related and probably display driver. Has this been updated since the issues started? What does event viewer say about the BSODs?

Literally nothing other than "the previous shutdown was unexpected". Yer, I know it was, thanks Windows! :(

I've had a few issues in the past with graphic drivers and sleep/hibernate. Try upgrade or downgrade them.

Pretty sure I grabbed the latest, but I will keep checking for newer versions :)

i used to get blue screens resuming from sleep until i removed my xonar dx :(
Now I have crappy onboard audio, but no bsods :|

Thing is I've not added anything. Yes, the 1060 is new, but this was a growing problem before it - and I naively hoped it would go away. It hasn't, and here I am still :/ The BSOD today was new, mostly it just won't turn the screens on and I have to hit the power button...

Minor update; I unplugged my USB colorimeter 3 days ago and touch wood it hasn't failed to resume from hibernate since... Would be an odd one, but I'll be happy if that's all it turns out to be :)
