Incredible discovered work

That's pretty damn awesome!

Edit*

Seeing her pictures, Vivian Maier is definitely one of my all time favourite photographers, some great inspirational pictures.

Amazing, just to say her work is something spectacular. And their's those nubs who spends thousands of pounds on high end camera equipment to get decent results. I bet her camera was something basic that a lot of us take for granted :)

Some of her work is really excellent! What a find. I'm looking forward to seeing more as they're scanned in. Bresson is one of my all time favorite togs and her work reminds me of his.

She used a Rolleiflex primarily I believe, not very cheap these days but might have been back then.

It's hard to sum up in words, but that is truly an amazing story, it's just sad she didn't get recognition for her work while she was still on the wheel.

Fascinating story. I echo the comment about those that want to spend a fortune on gear, it's a cliche but people really should focus more on the results and getting out there, capturing life.

Wow that was great to watch! I hope that the guy that's found her work really gets her name out there,I think she desurves it

This is why it's always good to go on a wander with nothing more than a body and 50mm lens :D

this is such a touching & inspireing story her pictures are fantastic. To think she spent her whole life with a passion for photography and and was clearly gifted and skilled at what she did, yet no one in her lifetime noticed or recognised it. Defo a good storyline for a movie.

Wow. Those pics are stunning.

What a great story. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

In terms of the guy saying he is unsure how much it is worth, it seems somewhat wrong that he himself should make money from someone elses works, he should get compensated for his efforts and costs but the girls family should get the money.

Even better if he discovered an interest of hers and gave the money to the approriate charity or organisation.

Couldn't agree more :)

it's great when you see excellent photographers shoot on cheap point and shoot cameras and get incredible results.

An eye for composition, light, framing etc is 99% of photography. I'd say the 1% is getting an alright camera. Probably even less than 1%.

What a lovely find. I've got to say though, I'd hardly class a Rollei as the budget option back in the day. It was and still is a high quality bit of MF kit.
