Yep the Samsung is my favourite too, its not LED but I reckon its the better monitor and looks the dog danglies.

How does it compare to the B2430H? I assume you've seen both? I can't decide now you've just dropped the price of the older one.

Same panels, P2450H I believe does have better circutry and the P2450H is leagues ahead in style/design, its a shame Samsung will probably discontinue the Lavender range shortly.

Same panels, despite the difference in response, so I guess that means the P2450H uses RTA or some sort of acceleration to allow the faster response? Sorry I'm no expert.

If they are the same panel, it's strange how the reviews of the P2450H tend to come out worse for IQ, I guess that's the out of the box settings?

Our new resident monitor expert, PCM2, seems to think that the B2430H has better whites (Daz!) also.

Compared to my current monitor, 226BW, if both are a very similar leap in IQ, I'll go for the P2450H, it's much better looking and it has to sit on my desk for 3 years at least until I renew it, like I'm doing with my previous one.

It's so difficult to pick a monitor without seeing it first. There's nowhere to go look at these though, obviously I'm miles from OcUK, no idea if you even display them anyway so I have to take your word for it. The only reason I shop here is because of the excellent CS and more recently, great prices. The high st shops don't tend to stock any of this stuff any more.

Well I'd find it extremely odd if Samsung were using different panels, BADASS could definetely confirm. It could be out of the box settings but I have seen a P2450H in use and thought it was absolutely gorgeous monitor and very sharp. I've not seen the other one but I'd expect two Samsung TN based monitors to be very evenly matched when both setup properly.

Other option you may consider is the DELL U2311H for the viewing angles.
