I cut some of my (MIG) welding up today that I thought might be a bit shallow but it was penetrated all the way through and I was pleasantly surprised

I learned to weld when I was doing engineering at college and have to say that it takes a lot of skill to weld like that and my welding is very poor by comparison

learned my (hobby) trade on oxy-acetylene, then moved on to MIG. Some of those welds are just amazing!

IIRC It's two years training at Honda before thiy're let loose on the motorbike frames.

TBH though I see awesome welding every day at work (I work for a structural steelwork company)
