Finally made up my mind and bought a car. x5 30d se with media pack and dynamic pack, panoramic roof and third row seating

Picked it up this morning and have just had a couple of hours in it. Loving it so far.

No pics but this is the dealer video:

I think it was the right decision in the end, the GT was not really going to work with the dogs, the touring was great but not the change we were looking for coming from the previous generation one, I couldn't bring mysellf to spend £7k more on a cayenne with the same mileage, same year and lower spec and even the 3.6 range rover sport is comparatively slow.

I was swung by my wife admitting how much she missed the driving position of our previous truck and by the 7 seats which will be handy without a suicide inducing people mover.

Now I just need to find some drugs to sell :p

Thoughts so far are it is very car like driving experience but with the SUV driving position. Loving the 3.0d, smooth and easy, not a rocket ship but no slouch. The interior is lovely and I really like the pano roof. I wish I had gone auto before, my afternoon included 3 motorways some a roads, some London driving and all was a joy.

The sport suspension is pretty solid over speedbumps and so on but car drives very well.

Very nice. The sport suspension is deleted more often than not on m sport x5s so it may not have the usual harsh ride which is a good thing in this car IMO. It's a very nice car and the extra seats are great for occasional use. What size are the tyres? They don't look like the 20" that will set you back 1500 for the rears which can only be good thing.

They're 19s, it's an SE with the dynamic pack, so:

Sport steering wheel,
Sports suspension,
anthracite headlining,
sport seats,
High gloss exterior shadowline,
19" alloys

Sports sus not deleted but happy with the ride. Coming from a 5 series on run flats so used to pretty stiff

Has new tyres all round, new front disks too. Dealer spent £2k.
