I have created a layered image within Photoshop. The background of this image is CMYK 60,0,2,0. I then merge visible and save as a .PSD.

Next i open up my work within Indesign. I File-> Place the .PSD.
If i use the Eyedropper on the image it tells me the CMYK color is 76,0,17,0.

I then export the indesign file to a .PDF and send it to the printers.

Ultimately because the CMYK has now got an influence of Yellow, my previously lovely BLUE has a creeping GREEN colour emerging!

I have search on google, and on the search function of these forums, and on help - but i must be useless because i cannot find any information on it.

Kind Regards!

Adam

Check the Colour Settings in both InDesign and Photoshop. Under EDIT > COLOUR SETTINGS. Make sure both Working Space and Colour Management Policies values are the same in both applications (say use Euroscale Coated v2 for CMYK).

Then do a Save As and right at the bottom of the Save As menu under Colour, make sure "Embed Color Profile: Euroscale Coated v2" is ticked (or whichever profile you use).

If you get the Colour Settings right in Photoshop it shouldn't make much difference what the values are in InDesign. Colour Settings and assigning Profiles is an absolute minefield if your not sure what you are doing. Although a lot of printers will be against Embeding a Colour Profile to your Images always check with them first before sending final artwork.

Then let me know what happens.
