Indexing service

Hi,

On our webserver we have a catalog in the indexing service which seems to be scanning the whole system (called system suprisingly), do you know if this is required for any reason? We are unaware of any need for it but are unsure of deleting the catalog if doing so could cause issues.

Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I believe this is just used for end users who may be running searches on files and folders stored on the server from their client machine. I may be wrong but I don't see it being totally necessary.

Indexing Service can safely be disabled.
