Indian restaurant recomendation - Whitechapel/Shoreditch area

I'm looking for a good, but not anything too fancy Indian or similar restaurant in East London with a bring your own booze policy. I initially thought Tayyabs but it has been years since I have been there and from reading the reviews it seems to have gone drastically down hill.

I will be looking to book for around 8-10 people.

Any ideas?

I haven't been to a place there, but i've heard from reliable sources that it isn't actually any good anymore.

Though this is coming from those who know and enjoy proper authentic Indian food. Who knows if OP is looking for that, or for 'British' Indian food. I can recommend a couple of places, but don't know any in that area.
