Hi all,
Right rear indicator not working on 1999 CBR600. Has these little aftermarket indicators which look like LED ones but now sure as no way of removing the bulb so assuming they are.

I've cut the wires off next to the indicator, turned ignition and right indicator on, then used a volt meter on a yellow wire (feeding to a blue wire), It reads intermittent 6.5v because obviously indicators flash. I'm assuming the indicator doesn't work now but the wiring, although ropey is passing volts through.

I also tested the black wire which I think feeds through to a red wire and is basically the earth?

Essentially - have I done the diagnosis right and it is definitely the indicator or have I missed something completely obvious?

Other than that the CBR runs like a dream and I've got the throttle return working now after cutting the grip off to find it was actually the grip that had been poorly fitted. So new grip and new indicator and should e ok to MOT then........

If you removed the indicator from the circuit and measured with a voltmeter then you won't be able to see the effects of any high resistances in the circuit (corroded connectors etc.) since there's no load. You need to keep the indicator connected and measure voltage across it. Replacing the flasher relay with a bit of wire to stop the indicators flashing also makes things easier.
