What ar your favourite indie games? Looking for something to fill ym Steam Deck with other that trying to run AAA title son it..

Already have:
Hades
Dredge
Dave The Diver
Tiny Thor
Cursed Golf
Dead Cells

Looking for more recommendations.

Undertale. /Thread.

But also:
-Return of the Obra Dinn
-Life is Strange
-Disco Elysium
-Into the Breach
-The Long Dark

All up there with the best games I've ever played. Of these, play Undertale, Disco Elysium and Obra Dinn in particular

Don't know if it will translate to good Deck play, but I re-installed Raceroom Racing Experience over the weekend and the default Steam Controller setup works really well (a year on, still not finished assembling my Omega stand to use my G29 wheel).
Lonely Mountains: Downhill
Super Laser Racer
Redout 1 & 2
Circuit Superstars
Tour De France 22?
Chaos Reborn (remake of Spectrum classic)
Dorfromantik

As well as what you've mentioned, not played, but would if I get a deck:

Cuphead
Deaths door
Celeste
Drainus
Dome keeper
Halls of torment
Return to monkey island
Disco elysium final cut
Resident evil remaster/0 or both

Then possibly one of the rpgs like octopath 2 or sea of stars etc.

Bumping this instead of starting a new thread. So, I've come to the realisation that I find indie games way more enjoyable than big AAA releases nowadays, but indie games are a lot easier to miss - so what indie games are you currently playing/have previously played that you loved and think I should take a look at?

I got to agree. Over the last maybe 4-5yrs my percentage of gaming has been moving towards indie games. The last year or two it has become the majority. Got a bunch of AAA that have been started but not completed due to preferring to play the indies. AAA has kind of become a gfx card showcase for me, so my inner geek still picks them up.

Dont know if they are Steamdeck playable or not but some that havent been said yet..

Mewgenics
Blue Prince
Darkest Dungeon 1/2
Slay the Spire 1/2
MonsterTrain 1/2
Knock on the Coffin Lid
Mind Over Magic
Abiotic Factor
Dinkum
Alchemy Factory
Deck of Haunts

Actually, now that I look at that list, thats a damned superb set of games....and yet some people still say there are no good games to play !

No mention of Bastion is criminal for the soundtrack and the narrator alone. It plays a little like Hades on account of being made by the same people but with a linear story instead of a roguelike loop.

I haven't played either yet but Transistor and Pyre are supposed to be very good as well.

Also add
Ori and the Blind Forest
Hellclock
Twelve Minutes
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream
R.I.P. - Reincarnation Insurance Program

A few Metroidvanias i enjoyed:

Hollow Knight
Nine Sols
Guacamole 1+2
Ori and the blind Forest
Ori and the will of the Wisps
Grime
Ender Magnolia
Mio: Memories in Orbit

Good mentions in here already. I’d throw The Planet Crafter on to the list. Thinking it’s time for me to buy the Toxicity DLC as I’ve had a long enough break from it.
I’ve been enjoying Under the Island recently. Fun little Zelda-esque title.

Yeah, I never actually finished the original, but I saw they did it quite a big update recently for graphics and stuff, maybe added a new planet, can’t recall.

There’s been a couple of planet DLCs and one of the free updates added moons in. The recent 2.0 update has given me the itch to get back to it.
