Hello Chaps

I want to get Dragon Age Origins for the PC, haven't used the PC for gaming in ages. Currently have a 8600GTS in there and I suspect it may not be up to the task.

I'll be playing on the projector so it won't need serious resolution (720p), be nice to ramp up the shadows etc though.

Whats good but not too pricey?

Cheers

just quickly scanning through whats available on OC, doesnt seem like they have any decent graphics cards that are passively cooled. also the ones that are ontop atm are out of stocok (4770 etc)
dont think youl geta good passive anyway, is your 8600gts passive as well, also do u really need a silent system?

The 8600GTS is passive, I run a home cinema system, I like my kit to be as quiet as possible as I use the PC to run the projector rather than a DVD player so its never off.

Might try Dragon Age on the 8600GTS or probably just buy it on 360 if it's not going to run properly.

tbh the 8600gts isnt that bad of a card, if your CPU is OC'd high then i wouldnt worry too much about it. btw if your Mobo is sli certified and has another x16/2.0 slot then buy another 1. you should see a 50+ performance increase.

I have one of these cards on order from a competitor, they are out of stock everywhere except from this supplier i ordered it on Wed and it has still not arrived. It does say 3-5 days delivery but i have no idea why it would take this long.
