I'm desperately looking for any decent laptop 15" less size with DVI or HDMI output for 1920x1200 on external screen capabilities. But by the looks of it cheapest options are 500+
Can anyone please recommend a few from current or recent range. I just can't believe I need to pay 100-150 on top of what i'd like to just to get decent video output

You can output 1920x1200 over VGA if you have that on your monitor.

Not for HDCP content...

Edit: Asus X50SL looks like a reasonable option, unfortunately laptop chipsets generally don't have DVI or HDMI if theyre integrated graphics (most are IG).

Looks like Dell Studio is the only option with HDMI port for external display. And it already has HD3450. Refurbished one can be had for ~400 from a certain auction site by the looks of it. Looks like good laptop to me :)

If there are any similar options for ~400 please let me know

They are are 400 new why would you want a refurb for the same price?

you could possibly get an xps1530 from the dell outlet for around £400-450 maybe, you'd have to look first, though, to see what it will come to with vat and del.

*EDIT* actually more like £500+ soz! perhaps an inspiron 1525 from the same place, that has hdmi?
