My SM2 and SM3 scores have dropped by about 500 points since i last benchmarked not too long ago with the same setup.

The frequencies are exactly the same.

What happens is the the first sci-fi test runs perfectly as before, but when it reaches the two flying light bug things in the forest, it starts good at about 20fps, but then it reaches a certain point, the visuals freeze - and a second or 2 later, it resumes, but at a frame rate of 12-14.

The test in the canyon with the dragon is noticeably slower too, especially as the dragon flies over the ship and zooms into the mans face. The FPS there is at about 8.

Prior to this, my chipset overheated to 80 degrees, but when the cooling was fitted back on, etc, it ran fine and runs at about 30 degrees.

I ran torture tests in prime to 'make sure' the chipset wasnt damaged, and i got no errors.

Do you think the chipset overheating before, and the lower GPU performance in certain tests are related?

I find it odd that some tests have way lower FPS while others may be only a little lower (nothing as noticable as a 10FPS drop). And it's not one type of test thats lower either, eg SM3 or SM2.
