Infected with a spambot

My Outlook is sending out spam from my address without me doing anything. I use gmail with IMAP.

I am running Avast with all updates and have run Search and Destroy but only found tracking cookies. What next?

Ah cheers for the info, just installed Vista and about to setup the Outlook with my Gmail/other emails, so thanks.
