does any have driven infiniti G35 sedan aka nissan skyline V35? i want to know what they're like, eg handling, performance, general ownership of this vehicle from fellow ocuk.

I'm surprised that infiniti isn't sold in UK. I think G35 (aka v35 in Japan) is absolutely beautiful (exterior), the interior might look a bit cheaply made on skyline versions.
skyline V35 comes with 2 engines choices, 3Litre V6 (256hp) or 2.5 V6 (212hp). from what i read, 3lite v6 hits 60mp in mid 6sec.
I'm actually considering to buy one of the skyline variant, the cost is not as bad as you think, i could get one for abt $13000 with DVD Sat nav, bose audio system, all the usual gadgets. btw, if you live in Japan, it sells for abt $7.5k - $10k for one with 40-70k km on the clock, with grading of 4 - 4.5.

PS: infiniti is luxury brand of nissan, sold in USA.. like whats lexus to toyota is..

here is photo..

The Infiniti G20 is the same as the Nissan Primera

The Infiniti G35 coupe/saloon is (as fox said) a soft un-sporty saloon for the USDM.

I *THINK* that the G35 coupe is based on the same chassis as the 350Z is for the UKDM.

There are much better cars to spend £13,000 on

if you read my post, it says $13000 dollars, not pounds.. sorry for the confusion..

$13000 = less than 7k british pounds

and you're right G35 coupe shares the same platform as 350Z

They are reasonable cars, you'll get Jap build quality, but American handling :(

Even for £7k i'd be tempted to look at something else personally. They are pretty unique cars, and tuning parts are easy to come by.

my older sister here has the coupe version i beilve only driven it once but as for as i know its a 3.5L straight six with 280bhp.

handling is average id say but fun factor is really good :D

cant comment ofn the sedan though :(

i really can't live with 2 seaters.. i hear 4 door sedan is as good as the 2 door sibling. and a real skyline hmmm i doubt i can drive it on the road we have.. (mongolia), 70% of our tarmac road is more like off road, and the real skyline is not very practical. i will see if i can get test drive this weekend.

You live in Mongolia?

Why not get a car that would be good one those roads? Get something AWD, If there are huge Pot holes get a 4x4 If there arnt huge poy whole get a WRX or a
Lancer.

yeah.. thats right i live in mongolia.. i lived in uk for nearly 9 years.. and i moved back here last year. anyways.. i already have mitsubishi galant8 i'm kinda bored with it, plus its not very reliable car tbh. i would love to own german cars but they're way overpriced here. 2000 bmw 5 series nearly cost 20k USD plus they're way too expensive for maintanance. therefore it leaves me with japanese import cars. choices are Toyota Mark II 2000 onwards model, Chaser, or nissan skyline v35 2001 ownwards model. spare parts are pretty cheap compared to german or american cars, and are easy to find.

ps: the roads are not that bad, just imagine britain's worst roads are our best roads. with the fuel price on the rise, 4x4 or AWD isn't very economical...
We import 85% of petrol/diesel from russian, and they're just increased the export tax on fuel. which brought the prices to abt 50p/litre. considering the average salary of mongolians (which is less than 1000 GBP annually). in contrast, UK average salary is what 30k a year? thats 30 times more than what we earn here, and yet you pay less 100p/litre for fuel, only twice what we pay. anyways.. nuff said.

Ahh, it's a bit more clear now. I was under the impression you were after a sports car. The G35 makes more sense now.
