infinity 2 speed issues

Hi all I had a problem with the speed of infinity 2 , it dropped from 50 meg to 21 meg download, & 17 meg to 9 meg upload i reported it and they arranged for an engineer to visit my house ,which he did and changed the B.T Modem ,and now i get 38meg download & 15.5 meg upload i am happy with this speed ,but just wondered why i can,t get the 50 meg i once got ? they have tested the line and its working fine , i just don,t understand why the upload has increased but the download hasn,t any ideas ? For how long did you have 50 Mbit?

The line will stabalise and sync at whatever your line can handle.

I had 50 megs since they installed it around 8 months ago .. :confused:

Who is your ISP? Sounds like you've been automatically been put on profile 1 which is 40Mbit max. Call them up and ask to be put back on 2.

Hi there i,m on B.T Infinity 2 so i,ll call them up to ask if they can put me back on 2 ..any ideas what the number is ? :confused:

Probably 150 from your phone then follow the options. I'm not a BT customer though, with Plusnet I'd just send a webnote and they'd sort it for me.

He isn't on a 40/10 profile if he's seeing 15Mb/s up.

thats true KIA i,m on Infinity 2 which is 76 down and 40 up as i said i was getting 50 meg down and 17 up , so can only thin they have put me on option 1 ? i,ll give them a call tomorrow

I don,t think i,m on the 40/10 option as i get 15 meg upload speed , maybe the download speed will go up in a few weeks time , or i can only get 60 meg max on my line ? if thats the case then 38 meg download is pretty good .
