Infinity: Battlescape (open world space game)

Its been in the works for aaaages - nice to see they are finally getting somewhere near the original vision.
 
This is just No Mans Sky with better looking graphics? Didn't see through the whole vid (probably about half way) but can you even leave the spaceship to explore?

It really isn't at all and no, you cannot leave the spaceship to explore.

I've been following infinity for years and while I am happy to see them launch their kick starter it isma far cry from what they were talking about years ago, it also looks like the gameplay elements are really an afterthought, it just looks odd to me.

Well the original vision wasn't that much more than being able to undock from a space station then actually fly down to ground level on a nearby planet - then take off again and do the same on another planet.

A lot seems like an after-thought but its cool they've got that working in realtime in multiplayer. Though the cockpit shaking looks a bit odd as it seems like they are only shaking the ship model with no corresponding change to the view angles/flight model at all.
 
I thought I was pretty clued up on modern games but clearly not, as this is the first I have heard of this and it looks sweet. Thanks for the heads up :)
 
In all fairness the game has a lot of potential, as its evolving, and it might turn out to be a very good game,
I do hope the add the ability to get out of the craft to walking around on the planet surfaces, maybe some fps action! but definitely one to watch, and see how it progresses!

I'm looking forward to getting a go on this... Backed it from the beginning but not at the level to get in the alpha play events so keen to see it when it comes up on Steam as I'll have a key.
 
I'm back, been a while since I posted about this wow 4 years and now its coming to steam finally
 
I watched a community event fleet combat video for this yesterday, it looks really good. I'm going to keep an eye on this one. See what the steam reviews look like.
