Morning all,

Thought i was all ready to take the plunge on the scimitar but now the new "infinity" range has popped up. I've been looking at the differences between the Scimitar and the Tesseract and i'm torn between them now. Anyone got any thoughts?

I'm looking for a prebuilt watercooled system as i don't have the time to look into building my own. I've previously put a few together but i've never watercooled or seriously overclocked either so i think this'll be a much better solution for me at the moment.

How big a performance difference is there between the 2 x 780's in the Tesseract and the single 7990 in the Scimitar? Will the 8GB RAM difference have any kind of notable impact?

Don't know if it'll make a difference but i'm planning on having it running 3 monitors for gaming/working and i've also got a projector that i swap one of the 3 monitors for when i want to watch films.

having designed and built both myself, I would go for the Tesseract.

The chips that we use for the Tesseract are hand picked and clocked to their highest stable clock (within conservative preset voltage limits) which means that you'll get a 4.5GHz/2133MHz system if you buy the Scimitar but more than likely you'll get a 4.8GHz+/2400Mhz with the Tesseract.

SLI GTX 780's will beat a 7990 in most, even high res, cases.

Finally, on a personal note, I prefer SLI to Crossfire and think that the Corsair 540 is a much easier case to live with.

You'll want the double 780's for triple monitors for futureproofing. Also the infinity ones have properly "binned" cpu's for better clocks.

If money is not an object, go for the better ones.

Sounds good...May move this to the customer support forum and get a tesseract ordered then. Will have to see if there's a chance of OC throwing in any free games so i can test it properly heh.

Also i've been reading some reviews of windows 8. Think i'll end up plumping for that as the OS to give it a try unless there's any huge hidden issues with it?

Thanks for the replies guys
