INFO ON ATX

hi are all atx pins the same apart from some are male and some are female ie they all fit into any plug

The sockets on the 24 pin, 8 pins and 6 pin variant cables are all the same connector system and gender. I think it's those you are talking about. You only see the pin versions on the main board and extension cables really.

what about ones on a modular psu cable i take it they are the 24 8 6 and 4 for molex power

The other end of the modular cable that plugs into the PSU can be whatever the PSU manufacturer wants. Some are screw on, some are plug in, some square, some round. There are no rules to that end I am afraid!
The peripheral / motherboard end must be standard though.
