Info regarding UT3 on PS3 and 360 from Mark Rein

I have a Hi Spec HTPC and a 360 Elite under my lounge TV so i'll be getting UT3 on PC.

Don't be fooled joypad wagglers you can't and won't ever beat a mouse & keyboard combo especialy for games like UT :)

Or like me you could just own a PS3 and get the best of both worlds :)

Still feel the PC version will be the one to own though.
Yeah the PS3 has the mod support and that but it's still gonna be more hassle than the PC version will be to use them.

Also I think with the PS3 you're gonna be playing more against PC users than PS3 users, I doubt many PS3 users will even bother hooking up a keyboard and mouse to a console, the number of players with a joypad is going to be a huge amount higher.

Getting one for christmas ;)

Still feel the PC version will be the one to own though as the console versions are comprimised.

I don't doubt it, but unfortunately I don't have a gaming PC anymore so my only option is to get it on the PS3 if I want it. I just wish all console FPS supported M/KB as no matter how good the pads are I can't get along with them :(

I think PS3 and PC players will be able to play each other, but the closed nature of Xbox live makes that impossible for 360 players.

Yeh, just like with Shadowrun

I think it only worked for Shadowrun because it was published by MS with cross platform in mind, but the PC version uses Games for Windows and Live (equivalent to xbox live) so they can work together. I think UT3 isn't a Microsoft Live Games for Windows, so it can't be done (or if it can, not as easily).

Ah yeah forgot about that. In that case, I'll change my statement to "It's impossible without using Microsoft's Windows Live system". So it would still be impossible for PC, PS3 and 360 players to play against each other all at the same time.

Well i dont know about anyone else but I dont want to play against PS3 or PC users. I've never been short of team mates or opponents on live.
Yeah I don't necessarily see that as a disadvantage. There are many good things about having a more higly controlled, closed system like Xbox live. Still, I'll be getting this on the PC for definite. I'm more interested in the modding potential than the game itself so PC is my only choice.

"doesnt mean it can run it all well" to me (seemingly the only person here) this implies something (really only the x360 can be compared as its pointless comparing it to the PC) runs it better.

If it doesnt , then surely its the game design at fault (rather than the medium) if neither system runs it well
