These are the sections of a CV I look for first when employing someone. If they haven't included them I will not consider them for the post. Omit at you peril! I would also include references.

Don't put Curriculum Vitae at the top, just put your name in bold and contact details centered to the middle of the page.

Indeed, the employer knows it's a CV, don't insult their intelligence.

Secondly, arrange it by newest first, so college grades above school, current job above previous jobs etc.

ok a lot of helpful info here.. thats my final version.. what you think? too much information?>

Hard to tell without the proper layout, but for jobs you need to have the place as a title, and written underneath what you did, what experiences you learnt, not write "Duties:", although you may have just done this for the forum.

I haven't put my references on my CV, I just added available on request. I also haven't added a personal profile, because it's usually a load of crap. "I'm hard working blah blah", who hasn't out that on their CV?

Huddy on these forums has more experience in this field, as I believe he does interviews where he works. He'll give more guidance.

ok cool, should i include the dob?

I would, unless you're 70.

...and if you are going to leave it there, at least fix it:

Personal Profile:
I am a hard working, enthusiastic character, who likes to take on new challenges and to gain experience from them. I can work well in a team or on a self based task. I have just and got the required grades I was hoping for (LOL QUE?) . No good employer cares if you write it at the top or not. Probably worth making your name a heading, in a font which is just large enough to read it from the floor.

As a general rule, it should be possible to skim read it in 30 seconds at most.

Put the Personal profile in a covering letter (DO have a covering letter) tailored to the position you are applying for, and back up your ability to work in a team with an example. Also try to work your ability to work independently into there.

Don't list your achievements like someone who can't construct a sentence (I do appreciate the ironing of me saying that).

Big up the cadets more.

Don't say "hopefully".

so i shouldnt list them? Or list them but have more info.

what shall i say? I learned valuable team work skills and learnt discipline while upgrading my rank from private to major (lol?!).. ?

Don't say "hopefully".

I put hopefully because they might not accept mefull time if they think im going to university in a year

Doesn't matter, "hopefully" makes you look nervous, it stood out like you wouldn't believe when I skimmed through your OP, it will do the same to an employer. It is doing more harm than good like that. If you get the grades you will go to Uni, so write that you "will" go to uni, speak about that in more detail at an interview. Remember the CV is to try and get an interview, not a job.

Try and write the achievements in a nicely flowing, paragraph, with as little padding out with redundant language as possible.

Try to discuss your time in the cadets a bit, show the reader that you recognize how your time there has improved you. My time with the Air cadets was a huge part of my life, and it gets a sizable bit of page space. Don't feel you can't mention cadets in the covering letter if you have done in the CV.

Try and link the Covering letter to the CV, eg: "I have been an * cadet for * years, and have reached the rank of *, my achievements with the cadets as detailed in my CV have been key to developing my strong team spirit..."
