I've got BF1 with a mate who lives a few miles away and we'd like to be able to chat whilst playing ingame but I'm not sure what is a good option to use software wise.

I used to game a lot back in the day and we used TeamSpeak but I dunno if it's free still or if you have to pay for it. What's a good free bit of software my mate and I can use to chat? It would just be the two of us with little chance of anyone else being able to join us for a chat.

PC version of BF1

It's just the two of us going to be talking and chatting whilst ingame. Nobody else is going to be in the chat with us. Just makes it a bit better fun while we're both in the same map or same squad/team on BF1.

Discord - though when it first came out trying to record with it was a no go - TS3; Mumble; Skype......Razor Comms - *but still issues in beta*

there are a few to pick from - figure out which one works best for you and go :) though lots of games these days are building in voice coms - some good some terrible....

Discord is really good, quality is amazing and setup is easy.
Also lightweight.
Don't use a lot of features, just call whoever and get on gaming.

would you consider phone if it's just 2 of you? If it's just my local mate we're both on giffgaff so all calls are free. Tend to put each other on loudspeaker and just play.

On PC, i still like Teamspeak a lot
