Ingenious graduate filter holder

Would have thought the next logical step would involve filing down the hood? But sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. And always interesting when people comment about paying money for lenses etc but not wanting to spend on, for example, a filter holder. Why spend that money on something when a few pounds will do the trick? Stick on some black tape and I'm sure most people would think it manufactured!

Hey! I've still got my 11 stop welders glass filter around here somewhere! :D

I'm always curious how you start welding. Do you look away as you start then put the visor down and hope you don't miss or struggle to see through the really dark visor until it all lights up? I've seen lots of people with arc eye over the years and its bloody painful, would not want it too often!

This "make do and mend" is all very British!

N1 looks like a workable solution. I've got by wrapping a ring of blue tack around my lens then just sticking the filter on the front. I looked at the filter holders but thought needing a different adapter ring for each lens would be a pain.
