Init command

I've always used init 6 (probably a bad habit) to reboot but since FC9 (could be earlier distro's to)has come along the init command is no long recognised, any one know why they would scrap init?
More of a annoyance than a problem.

Going slightly OT can't you just use the "reboot" command?

Oh yeh that works fine, its just i'm used to using init 6. Old habits die hard.
