Hi All

I'm not that up to speed on the iPads but they have had this for years, battery if starting to degrade and it no longer gets the latest iOS which means she can't use google docs via the web, current one has seen better days

They have asked me to look at purchasing them a new model with requirements below
  • Same size screen 9.7"
  • 32GB+ storage
  • Cellular needed for father in laws stays in hospital
Question is where do I buy to get the best deal? Direct Apple refrurb, John Lewis (2 years warranty)

Any advice would be gratfefully received

Somewhere like MusicMagpie on Ebay is usually a good shout for refurbished. Especially when they run the 20% off selected seller deals.

From memory i got my 7th gen Ipad for something like £230 when it was still the current model and it arrived looking absolutely perfect.

I'm guessing with direct Apple refurb you get their warranty, not too sure about eBay or MM, as I'll be l;ooking after it if it breaks I'd rather it be a simple call, visit to an Apple store

Tried to buy an Ipad 2 weeks ago, no stock in Amazon, Curry's or Apple, ended up buying an Ipad Air, lot more expensive

What Apple calls refurbished is very different to what every other company calls refurbished. If you buy something refurbished from eBay, it generally means they’ve done a factory reset and wiped it down with a damp cloth.

Hey Feek - Yes I have purchased a few iPads, Macbook Pro etc from Apple refurb and they always look brand new!

Just reviewing their refurb site now
