Inline Barrel Adjuster

I were going to do this, i were told today not to bother by the cycle shop. They said the adjusters on the bars are the best for the job and that adding others dont really make too much of a difference and can suffer from dirt getting into them and causing more problems.

Anyone shed any light on this?

I'd disagree with that , on my Canyon its clockwise to tighten:)

This type of barrel adjuster? I have those on my canyon as well.
They tighten clockwise because you turn the outside part of it. You're essentially turning the female part of the thread around the male part - hence the opposite direction to tighten.

The type of barrel adjuster that screws into a threaded eyelet on the frame is anticlockwise to tighten the cable tension (but those types dont work with internal cable routing)
