Inno3D

I've got the Inno3D 8800GT OC and its a great card, packaging was what I would expect and it came with a full version of GRAW2, tbh packaging and cables dont mean a lot to me its the card I'm buying not the bits I'll lob in the loft and never look at again, so for less money than the standard GT's I got an overclocked one, cant be bad!

umm u thik i should buy a standard one and have a try oc it myself or buy a preoc one?

the problem with weak brands are that they tend to sell much cheaper than exactly the same ones on bay of e.

eg, i saw a EVGA 8800GTX sell for 290 while at similar time, a Point of View 8800GTX sell for 250.

and my friend was sold his EVGA 8800GTX for 250 after new GTS 512MB came out, while most other branded GTX are selling for 230.

so isn't buying a good brand, although more expensive, will more likely to sell more expensively?

I can't believe that some people put so much thought into the economics of a card, its starting to scare me a bit now!

I sold my Inno3D 8800GT for a fortune at auction so I'm not sure everyone buys into the 'pay more for big brand', some do of course but not everyone. I am starting to open up to new brands as I have had a good run recently with Inno3D and PNY.

I'm not paying £30 extra for a graphics card so that when I come to sell it I can get my £30 back?

Bank of GPU?

The only experience I had with Inno3D was the 8800GT which broke after a few hours, so first impression wasn't good, but judging from users here they seem fine, have heard about them in HK.

Was running artifact scanning at 660/1650/1900 (so not like I've gone mad with OC) then screen went blank, seemed just like your normal GPU crash but the pc refused to post, each time giving the GFX not found error beeps. Have tried the normal reset CMOS, put it in second PCI-E socket...etc to no avail. Sent it back to the shop and they confirmed faulty and provided refund.

I wondered if it would fail sooner or later anyway even without OC. I'm sure mine was just one of the few that's gone faulty out of thousands of inno3d cards.

People buy a BFG or EVGA card because they think that having that in their machine or their sig somehow makes them better. In actual fact the 8800GT is all the same card made by one manufacturer with a sticker on the heat sink that you pay £30-£50 more for from the branded cards. Yes there may be cherry picking etc, but as long as the after sales are good, there's no reason why an Inno3D card should be any different to a BFG or EVGA one. Dont get stuck into brand snobbery and get the cheapest one you can. Unless of course, you think the free BFG stickers and Tshirts that makes you look like a nob to most people, and a brand whore to gamers are worth the money...

Agreed.

Who cares? There's absolutely no difference apart from the sticker, which isn't going to be seen once it's in your PC anyway.

Just go for whichever's cheapest. :)
