What do you think this "DOC" could be ?

If follow the order in the list of options explained here : http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/ECS-P55H-A-Black-Series-Motherboard/803/5 would it make sense that it indeed refers to RAM BClock ?

  • CPU base clock: can be adjusted from 133 MHz to 600 MHz in 1 MHz increments.
  • Memory controller base clock: can be adjusted from 133 MHz to 600 MHz in 1 MHz increments.
  • PCI Express clock: can be adjusted from 100 MHz to 200 MHz in 1 MHz increments.
  • CPU voltage: From +0.01 V to +0.15 V in +0.01 V increments.
  • CPU termination voltage (VTT): From +0.01 V to +0.15 V in +0.01 V increments.
  • Memory voltage: From +0.01 V to +0.15 V in +0.01 V increments.
  • Chipset (PCH) voltage: From +0.01 V to +0.15 V in +0.01 V increments.

I don't see any other option of setting Memory BClock, so maybe thats it indeed? IF in 1156 boards Memory BClock is separately adjustable. (is it?) I am noticing that altering the "CPU Over-Clock freq" (CPU BClock i guess) alters the memory speed too ("CPU Over-Clock Freq" Mhz x mem multi) (*)

The only other manual option for memory besides timings is adjusting its multiplier (is given in the form of "800 Mhz,1066 Mhz,1333 Mhz,1600 Mhz" meaning 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x respectively)

An ECS representative was only able to state "it's Dynamic Over Clock function for allowing user set a CPU base clock" ....

(*) Maybe , when "DOC" is disabled, the Memory BClock is the same as the CPU Block ?

New finding :

D.O.C is an acronym for Dynamic Overclock Control - and allows you to set another BCLK value (works much the same as TurboBoost).

I just tested it and indeed it adds a dynamic Bus Speed (BClock) increase function. The user sets the maximum value the BClock can reach under load. It looks to behave in parallel with Turbo. They seem to increase almost together. The BClock though maxes easier and faster than the Turbo multiplier: It looks like once the stock Core Speed (eg 2800 for i7 860) is exceeded, DOC is increasing the Bus Speed to the maximum value the user sets ( i tried it for example with 143 Mhz: Till about 2800 Ghz the Bus Speed was 133, at about 2900 and over, it changes to 143 Mhz )
