OK, first if this question seems real dumb then I apologise.....
On TFT/LCDs I understand that most screens have what is known as input lag, being a slight delay of between 15ms to 50ms, from the time that the computer produces the image and it being displayed on the actual screen, and this is is caused by some pre-display processing done by the screen itself.
This if what I understand so far from all the postings/discussions here, if I'm wrong then please let me know.
Some screens have low input lag (usually TN/IPS) and some tend to be higher being (PVA).
Also some people can detect it and some cannot and a low lag is preferred on fast action games, as I understand the lag is added extra time to what you see.
However.......I was thinking....perhaps I was thing too much...if this "lag" is such a big deal, are people also experiencing problems with the sound too being slightly ahead of what is on the screen ?
Surely if you are watching a film on a screen with 50ms input lag on the display, if the sound is coming out the sound card directly to the speakers, surely all sound is happening before the appropriate picture is displayed on the screen.
I just thought it wierd that I've never seen anyone discuss this problem of sound and picture being out of sync.
