Hey Guys,
First time poster on here, and just wanted to ask a quick question. Im looking into buying a new system which soul purpose would be to play WoW. Only living down the road from OcUk, Im going to be buying everything from there. With only a small budget to buy everything (monitor,KB and mouse included), I have been looking at the pre built gamer titan computers.
In particular I have been looking at:

"Titan Xenomorph" Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz @ 4.00GHz Dual Core DDR3 AVP Edition System - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-237-OK

and the

"Titan Nero" AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 245 2.90GHz DDR3 System - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-259-OK&groupid=43&catid=1444&subcat=1713

Preferably I would like to spend the minimum amount to be able to play WoW on ultra settings, but with the options to upgrade the machine in the future.

Any Input you can offer would greatly be appreciated, and If any of you have any better Spec's for around £500 - £700 mark I would love to hear them

I would say the Titan Xenomorph but its only £33 more to change it to a 5830 which I think would be worthwhile. Although if you are on a tight budget why not build one yourself, should be able to save money

This would be better for the same money
The motherboard would allow crossfire in the future

or you could go for this cheaper option

Can you crossfire on the Gigabyte H55M-UDH2 Intel H55 (Socket 1156) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard in the Titan Xenomorph?

Not really because the second card would only run a 4x so pretty much useless. The boards I specified above allow symmetrical crossfire at 8x which provides enough bandwidth.

No. As far as I know WOW was originally a single thread game, which later patched to support dual-core and not even using dual thread fully.

If specifically for WOW, a CPU that's faster in running dual thread is more important than extra cores. i5 750 or i7 920 overclocked to 4.0GHz would runs dual thread the fastest, but if it's out of your price range, the i3 530 overclocked to 4.0-4.2GHz would be the next best thing.

The "Titan Xenomorph" Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz @ 4.00GHz Dual Core DDR3 AVP Edition System would be a good match for playing WOW I think.

The architecture of Athlon II and Phenom II is slower than i3/i5/i7, also they will have a hard time getting to 4.0GHz; and if they can, it would require vcore like 1.45-1.6v.

cheap and cheerful and will play WoW, i dont understand why people are suggesting the things they are..people seem to read a build thread and just offer advice on what kit they like rather than what kit would do the job for the op at the lowest price :(

no need for a quad or to spend over £50 on a mobo, go AMD and get a dual core...i wouldn't spend over £650 inc a 24"screen, KB, Mouse and extra cooling fans.

Phenom II X2 550/550BE overclocked to 4.0GHz is only around as fast as E7400 overclocked to 4.0GHz, and Athon II X2 would be even slower than that. i3 530 on the other hand is the fastest dual-core there is.

Going the route of the Titan Xenomorph doesn't give much scope for the upgrade in the future though, no crossfire and end of line socket.

i spotted a few 5830 reccomendations here, but aren't there driver (or lack of) issues with the 5830? depending on the budget, wouldn't a 5850 or a 5770 be a safer bet?

I agree that it wouldn't bottleneck, but it depends on needs. I would like the flexibility of a better motherboard. Down to the OP to buy what suits those needs :)

While AMD would offer better upgrade route, it also come with the cost of lower frame rate in WOW, especially in the minimum frame rate department.

Wow is hugely CPU dependant as others have said. You can mod the config files in WoW to make partial use of 4 cores, and it craves raw clock speeds. Before the config mods with my i7 at stock I got 25fps in dala, with the mod and all cores at 4.1 its up to 40fps.

If Cata is like WOTLK its performance will be equally abyssmally optimized, so best prepare in advance.

Titan Xenomorph out of those two systems imo.
I find with WoW my GPU does not go over 70% load.
