Hi All,

I currently have an Asus crosshair IV and an AMD hex core 1090T black in basket. was looking at the OCZ platnum 4GB DDR3 (2x2GB) x2. I currently have the DDR2 versions of these and they are pretty good but havnt looked out for anything in a while. Is there a better option out there or am I on the right track?

The XMS3 PC3-12800 are great value -link - and you won't notice any performance difference in day to day usage compared to the above - unless benching.

They're low profile so no problems with possible HS interference and there incredibly slutty having been fixed to most flavours of MB on the forums. Plus they, usually, run on the lower recommended voltage setting - always a bonus.

Having said that - if you're after the aesthetics of memory with heat spreaders then the Corsair Vengeance fit the bill.

+1 for the 8GB Corsair XMS3 option

However, I wouldn't suggest getting an AM3 board and a X6 1090T CPU. You would be much better off going for a faster Intel Sandy Bridge i5 2500K with a P67 board (have a look at this performance comparison) or do as beh* suggests and wait for the new AMD Bulldozer which will be out next month.

If I had to purchase now I think I would still wait for bulldozer. Initial benchmarks have already proven that it's faster than my 2600K clock for clock.
