Basically I have an asus monitor with one dvi socket.

I would like to set my xbox up near the pc. Is there a device which I can hook my pc/xbox and speakers to and switch between them. ie xbox hdmi in and pc dvi in and then the speakers for the sound of whichever is active?

Does that make sense?

I have a pair of creative t10 speakers for my pc, was hoping to use them as they suit my needs. So just looking for a dvi switch box that carries audio...

Aye, if you search for "HQ DVI and Audio Switch", that is basically what you need - but you will need a few other cables and adapters to make it work.

Do you have the XBox 360 cable that connects to the AV output and provides a L/R RCA (phono) audio out?

Also, may I ask what make and model of monitor you have?

Okay cheers dude.

I think I have that cable as I'm pretty sure it comes with that with a small scart black adaptor. SHall have a forage for it.

Monitor wise I have an Acer X222W which does me fine and I've wall mounted it in fornt of the pc. It does have speakes built in but they are near useless. I may change the monitor which would mean less fuss, but was hoping for a cheap option to tide me over.
