Insalling Ubuntu advice

Need a little help and advice please.

Am I right in thinking that I cant install Ubuntu due to the fact my Motherboard ( Asus M5A99X EVO ) has UEFI BIOS ?

I was thinking about dual booting it along side my Windows 7 64Bit

If I cant run it on that mobo ...would Ubuntu on its own install on an Asus M5A78L-M ?

but it would have issues if I was to try and install Ubuntu via the Wubi installer having a mobo uefi bois ?





Anyway...I got Ubuntu 13.04 installed....but when i get to desktop.....it just freezes ...wont let me do anything at all ....i was looking to check for updates....but cant click on anything at all

any idea please anyone ??
