Insect question - What is leaving these?

These are only in one room of the house and there isn't anything that I can see leaving them... What is it

I've ruled out droppings as they are sometimes attached to window panes or walls suggesting it's an insect casing.

I'll have to try a macro shot with my phone

I was going to say thats what it looks like to me too. Empty chrysalids perhaps. Mouse poo is usually more solid than that. They look like tiny amounts of well, poo.
