Inside XBox shows may disappear

I have just learnt that MS is 'looking at it's operating model' in europe and as part of this may be following suit with the US by stopping production of all 'inside xbox' programming.

Now I know that not all LIVE users will watch this content but personally I look foward to the weekly updates of sent u a message and the Nexus as well as arcade cabinet and their E3/ Events coverage. I believe that if we were to lose this in the UK and europe it would be a big shame - Thats why I am asking you - the good people of OCUK to sign the below petition to keep these programmes going!

I actually enjoy watching it when I am on my xbox so I will vote!

in actual fact, I cant see any easy way to do it so meh...
 
Used to watch these quite regularly but ever since the dashboard update I haven't watched any.
They're now hidden under loads of menus where I forget about them, before you could watch the latest straight from the main screen.

this, i have no idea where they are buried now. in fairness ive not really missed them either. the two clowns they had presenting did my head in anyway.

This is one of the main things that keep me off the PS3, I won't be very happy if they get rid of the videos.
 
As some of you, I used to watch them but the new way the dashboard works seems to make it far easier to miss things and far more effort to find things.

I've mentioned it before, you should be able to subscribe to items such as series of videos or games that you are interested in and receive a personalised news feed much like RSS. I really don't understand why they don't have this.
 
I agree that it's harder to find them now, but the videos they produce are always good fun, especially when you think how little we have in the way of Video Games coverage on tv these days.

Didn't the US and other territories try to emulate them? As they realised Dan and Andy were funny. It would also be a shame when you consider that we pay for Xbox Live, so surely some of the fee goes towards it.

End of an era: Inside Xbox UK to be discontinued
Nelson’s confirmed the UK portion of Inside Xbox is to be discontinued following similar news in the US last week.



“Following the news last week that that Inside Xbox in the US was to cease production, the team in Europe has been investigating what makes most sense for them and the Xbox LIVE community as they continue to strive to deliver the latest gaming and entertainment news for users across the region,” said the Major in a statement on his blog.

“As such, they have decided to move away from the current first-party produced content model and transition to a third-party content model, which will provide timely and locally-relevant content to users across more of the EMEA markets.

“Whilst this means that the Inside Xbox brand will effectively be retired in Europe, the focus remains on continuing to provide the Xbox LIVE community with the latest and best in games and entertainment news and information.”

The canning comes after a petition was set up to keep the service, fronted by Dan “Mr PointyHead” Maher and “Andy “Farrantula” Farrant, in action. The petition was signed by 2,199.

The team won a GMA for Best Broadcast last year.

In a tweet this afternoon, Maher said: “So, to be clear and succinct: Inside Xbox is no more, as are our jobs. Your support during the last four years has meant the world to us.”
