Wife was driving the Insignia home from work and it started to judder with a total lack of power. She pulled over, called recovery who read the code and said some of the cylinders were misfiring. From what I've read, it'll probably need a new coil pack and plugs. I'm no good with cars so I'll need to take it to a garage but my question is would it be safe to drive there? Or am I at risk of causing more damage? Garage is around 3/4 mile away

Misfiring could be anything - from a coil pack, to an injector stuck open, to a MAF sensor that's failed. The only real issue that I can think of that will cause damage is if an injector is stuck open - however that really is a very rare thing to happen in comparison to the other issues which are much more frequent. It'll more than likely be a sensor which has failed.

TLDR - yes it'll 99% be absolutely fine to drive it 3/4 mile!
