inspiration for site designs?

inspiration for web site construction where do you guys get the idea from? Want to learn some web design skills but lack any ideas on what to base it on.

Browsing some of the Web Interfaces on DeviantArt, and also the various layouts on csszengarden would be a good place to start .

I wireframe a site first and then design it around my wireframe. This ensures content presentation is always kept first.

As for the design itself, you can take inspiration from many things, it doesn't necessarily have to be another website. Art, architecture, print,, etc. etc.

There are tons of CSS gallery sites out there as well.
