Inspiron Wireless Card Problem

ive got a d3ll (is that alright?) inspiron 1300 laptop and i recently bought a WPC54G, yet it seems to get no power from the laptop, so wont install. also, it seems to stick out quite a way

just had a closer look, and the card isnt going the whole way in to connect to the pins at the end like so:

the card cant get past the part on the left, to connect to the pins on the right

The Inspiron 1300 has an expresscard slot and so the WPC54G will not work. afaik there are no expresscard wifi cards. USB or an internal mini pci card will sort it out. The 1300 has access underneath for a mini pci card - I'd check that an internal aerial is in place (a white wire with a small plug/socket on the end).
