Hi

If I want to install Linux Mint 7 and the only available hd is my 1tb storage with 400gb free (rest has my Steam games), will the install kill my steam games or will the install spare them?

Sorry don't know what I'm doing..

:(

Indeed I wouldn't use them, there slow, plus likely not to be supported much longer, in fact I think wubi support maybe being dropped from 12.04.

Easiest way (bit simpler than gparted) is if you go to windows control panel > admin > storage you can shrink a partition there easily.

Once you do that you can boot a live and install linux into the space you created by resizing the partition, linux will sort everything else out so you don't lose your windows gubbins.

My OS hd is dead and I had an older verion Linux miny 7 lying around so am using it, but can't burn to anything as I am using my only cd/dvd drive.

If somebody could send the Linux Mint 12 live to me, that would help, otherwise I have to look for another idea.

My son was able to get hold of Linux 12 and so I'm gonna take a look at that and see how it goes.

TY for all the help and I know I'll be back shortly; old guys like me just are not that good with pc's :( . Well not for this problem.
